Project Porchlight gives neighbors a simple way to practice connection close to home.

  • Show up often enough to be known.
  • Share food or conversation with someone nearby.

Small steps, repeated over time, can change the feel of an entire street.

The Easiest Way to Start

Porchlight Homes are neighbors who choose a more connected way of life.

You do not have to plan events or lead activities. Just join in, say yes when you can, and occasionally invite someone nearby to share food or conversation.

Porchlight Homes are the lifeblood of Project Porchlight because connection grows when ordinary neighbors keep showing up.

Three Simple Commitments

No special skills required. No perfect hosting. Just three simple practices.

01

Join In

Participate in a Neighborhood Group, Block Event, or activity when one becomes available near you.

02

Say Yes

When a neighbor invites you to a gathering, meal, walk, game night, or activity, say yes when you can.

03

Break Bread

Every 2–3 months, share food or conversation with someone nearby — dinner, dessert, a drink, a snack, or a meal out.

These small habits help neighbors become part of each other’s actual lives.
