The Lifeblood of the Community

Porchlight Homes are neighbors who want deeper connection and friendships to those around them—but don’t want to organize events or activities.

They participate in events, accept invitations, and occasionally extend one of their own.

Strong communities grow when many people choose to show up for one another.

Porchlight Homes Commit To Three Things

No events to plan. No special skills required. Just three simple practices that build the kind of neighborhood everyone is hoping for.

01

Join

Participate in a Neighborhood Group when one becomes available near you. Show up. Be present. Let yourself be known.

02

Say Yes

When invited to a block gathering or neighborhood activity, say yes whenever possible. If the timing doesn’t work, try to reschedule. The yes is what matters.

03

Break Bread

Every 2–3 months, invite someone from your neighborhood to share a meal—at your home, at a restaurant, or even just for dessert. Small invitations build real friendships.

Simple Activities. Real Connection.

Neighborhood
Groups

Neighborhood Groups are recurring activities that bring neighbors together—built around things people already enjoy doing.

If you like doing something, chances are someone nearby does too.

Some neighbors help start these groups. Others simply join and participate. Both are essential.

Block Events

A few simple gatherings each year for the people on your street—potlucks, yard hangouts, or small service projects. Minimal to plan. Maximum impact.

Stronger neighborhoods don’t happen by accident.

They grow when neighbors take small steps toward one another. Project Porchlight simply makes that easier.
